During this second trip to Wales preliminary sketches for the opera began to take shape and Manno was also able attend the premiere performance of And Death Shall Have No Dominion for Chorus and Harp on November 8, 2003. This was part of a concert in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Dylan Thomas’ death.
